I just came in from my morning walk.
My devotions led me to this.
Something’s happening. All around me I am seeing greater opportunities for the people of faith than I have ever seen.
Those opportunities are in the challenges that are surrounding us.
When I see the degree of alienation that characterizes virtually every aspect of life my deepest excitement is for the Kingdom of God for it is characterized by reconciliation.
When I see the deep fear that is motivating so many decisions and debacles I am pretty much consumed with a counter motivation to love the fear right out of those decisions.
When I see the despair that challenges so many of us personally and societally I know that there is an opening for the hopeful people we are because of our birthright as children of God.
As more and more folks find their lives shaken because of faith placed in mammon we have a transforming witness by the security we have in eternal truths. Our faith is in things that don’t end.
My head tells me that there has never been a greater challenge than we face right now.
My heart tells me that the confident, joyful, loving people of God are on it. We aren’t seeing anything these days save an opportunity to live the love of our friend Jesus and sit back and watch as he redeems this thing.
Other folks who read this will say I am delusional.
We just smile and go on because…
We aim higher!
