I just came in from my morning walk.
My devotions led me to this.
I slept late this morning. Didn’t get up until 5:15. The Cutie already had my coffee made.
I needed the rest I guess but it complicated my morning walk. I usually walk with just one Companion. This morning I have two rather insistent little people sitting to my left and my right. This is a daily event but today I was also on my morning walk.
It is different.
I am practicing filtering.
In the several options for my ear which are important and which aren’t?
I am listening to a debate about Pickle’s family. You know, Pickle from Blaze and the Monster Machine.
And someone wanted a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on toast instead of the bacon and egg, over well, that they got.
Then we had to decide about who got up first. And second. And third. And fourth. And fifth. And whether we should count the dogs in the ranking.
But there is a Voice that keeps getting in there.
It is saying, “Enjoy this, you know it doesn’t last and then it will just be a memory.”
Someone just asked me if I am “on his team.”
Then the Voice asked me the same thing.
And just when it was getting deep with the Voice, one of my companions exclaims, “POPS, I NEED TO GO POTTY!”
The Voice said, “Don’t sweat it. You are about what you were sent to do. I will be here when it’s the right time to talk.”
Sometimes aiming higher isn’t what you expected it to be.
